Runewords er opskrifter for hvorledes man sætter en række runer i et item i en ganske bestemt rækkefølge, hvormed itemet opnår ekstra egenskaber ud over dem som runerne sædvanligvis giver. Når man laver disse opskrifter skal man være opmærksom på at rækkefølgen, som sagt, ikke er vilkårlig men der i mod skal følges nøje. Der ud over skal runewords laves i det som kan betegnes som normale items, hvilket kan kendes på at tekstfarven er enten hvid eller grå.
